Our business provides translation, review and editing services for texts in various languages as well as related services. We process personal data in particular to respond to enquiries, take steps prior to entering into contracts, perform contracts, administer relationships with customers and service providers, issue and process invoices and comply with legal obligations.

To the extent necessary for these purposes, we process data relating to the following groups:

  • Customers: address and contact details, contract and order data, billing and payment data and information relating to our business relationship
  • Service providers and suppliers: address and contact details, contract and order data, billing data and information relating to our business relationship
  • Prospective customers: address and contact details and information about enquiries and requested services

Depending on the circumstances, processing is based on one of the following legal bases:

  • Consent: Article 6(1)(a) GDPR
  • Performance of a contract or steps prior to entering into a contract: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR
  • Compliance with a legal obligation: Article 6(1)(c) GDPR
  • Legitimate interests: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, in particular the secure and efficient operation of our information technology, the maintenance of business relationships and the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims

As a rule, personal data are used only internally. They are disclosed only where this is lawful and necessary for the relevant purpose. Recipients may include:

  • IT, hosting and communications service providers that support the operation of our systems,
  • external service providers where their involvement is necessary to perform an assignment, and
  • tax advisers, banks and other recipients where necessary for billing, payment transactions or compliance with legal obligations.

No transfer of personal data to a third country or an international organisation is envisaged.

4. Retention period

Information pursuant to Article 13(2)(a) GDPR

We retain personal data only for as long as they are required for the relevant purpose. They are then erased unless statutory or contractual retention obligations or legitimate grounds require further retention.

Where the applicable legal requirements are met, you have the following rights:

  • Access: You may request access to the personal data we process about you.
  • Rectification: You may have inaccurate data corrected and incomplete data completed.
  • Erasure: You may request the erasure of your data.
  • Restriction: You may request restriction of processing.
  • Data portability: You may receive data that you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format or request that they be transmitted to another controller.
  • Objection: On grounds relating to your particular situation, you may object to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
  • Withdrawal of consent: You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is The State Commissioner for Data Protection of Lower Saxony.

6. Requirement to provide data

The provision of personal data may be required by law or by contract or may be necessary in order to enter into a contract. Without the necessary information, we may be unable to deal with an enquiry or enter into or perform a contract.

7. Automated decision-making

Information pursuant to Article 13(2)(f) GDPR

We do not use automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR.

8. Technical information about the website

Server logs

When you access a page, your browser automatically sends technical data to our hosting provider. These data may include your browser type and version, operating system, the page visited immediately beforehand, the requested address, host name or IP address and the date and time of access. The data are processed in server logs to deliver the website, ensure its technical security and detect and prevent attacks or improper access. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure and reliable operation of the website. The data are erased as soon as they are no longer required for these purposes and there are no legal grounds for further retention.

Contact forms

When you submit one of our contact forms, the data you enter are stored and processed in accordance with this privacy policy.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

A strictly necessary session cookie may be set on PHP-based pages. It enables consecutive page requests to be associated with the same session so that the relevant function can be provided. The cookie is not used for analytics, profiling or advertising and is intended to remain in place only for the duration of the session. Where it is necessary to provide a function expressly requested by you, no consent is required under section 25(2) no. 2 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG).

We do not use analytics tools such as Google Analytics. Our pages contain neither advertising nor trackers. The website does not offer any payment facilities.

External links

References to pages outside our website are simple links. Data are not transmitted to the relevant provider until you follow such a link.

Artificial intelligence

We do not use any AI systems on this website to generate or manipulate content that would be subject to the transparency obligations under Article 50(3) or (4) of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689.
