Specialized content for a specific purpose.

We translate, edit, proofread, and develop content for dentistry, dental technology, and related fields. It is not simply a matter of finding the right words and writing correct sentences. A text must be accurate, suit its medium, and work for its intended audience.

What this requires depends on the assignment. Sometimes a careful translation is enough. Sometimes a text needs extensive editing, adaptation for another market, or a complete rewrite. We explain the level of work we consider appropriate and then do as much or as little as agreed.

Translation

Translations have to work.

We translate scientific, clinical, technical, regulatory, editorial, and marketing content. We consider terminology and house style as well as the audience, purpose, and medium.

A translation can stay very close to the source. But it may also require explanations, restructuring, or more extensive adaptation. A text with strong ties to its country of origin will not necessarily work in another market, no matter how accurately it has been translated. If translation alone is not enough, we say so.

For long-term projects, we make sure that terminology and style do not start from scratch with every new text.

For instructions for use, product information, and training materials for medical devices, we combine precise dental terminology with clear communication and the regulatory requirements of the particular project. This supports correct use and contributes to product and patient safety.

Editing and proofreading

Fine-tuning the text.

We improve readability, clarity, and style, correct errors and inconsistencies, and standardize terminology and formal details.

The scope of our work is agreed for each assignment. It can range from correcting spelling, grammar, and punctuation to extensive editing or rewriting individual sections.

Depending on the assignment, we also check verifiable facts, cross-references, figure references, and consistent compliance with style and formatting requirements. We apply house styles, glossaries, author guidelines, and publisher specifications, ensuring that a text is not only correct sentence by sentence but also coherent as a whole.

Writing and adaptation

When translation is not enough.

Based on briefs, storyboards, rough drafts, or material in another language, we develop German content that works for its audience and purpose.

This may require reorganizing the content, replacing examples, explaining cultural assumptions, or fundamentally adapting the tone and message. Language that is persuasive in one country may sound stiff, exaggerated, or simply incomprehensible in another.

We care less about the label than the result. Instead of artfully imitating an unsuitable source, we write the text that is actually needed.

Through publication

We work on professional articles, abstracts, presentations, conference contributions, books, and other major publishing projects until they are ready for submission or publication. Depending on the assignment, this includes applying author and publisher guidelines, standardizing formal details, checking figure captions and cross-references, and reviewing proofs and page layouts.

We also remain available after the text itself is finished, for example, if new questions arise during typesetting, content needs to be shortened, or the published or implemented version needs a final review.
