Since 1997, Thea Dohler has worked as a trainer and consultant to freelance interpreters and translators and their associations in various countries. Thea’s organizational skills are greatly appreciated in the industry; many remember the ADÜ-Nord-Tage conferences (2002, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2011) and the miniconference she and Per organized for the Swedish Association of Professional Translators (SFÖ).

Thea ran a marketing hotline for members of the North German translators’ association, ADÜ Nord, for nine years, which has since 2013 flourished as 0800 TRIACOM, a free and independent phone-in marketing hotline.

Thea was project manager and co-author of a study on the earnings of freelance interpreters and translators (2006) and holds seminars on how to define a professional fee structure and how to negotiate with self-confidence.

Since 2007, she has been supporting interpreters and translators on their way to freelance success and helps them strengthen their “entrepreneurial backbone,” to market themselves and to win customers.

Since 2011, language departments of major companies and language service providers have been enlisting Thea’s help to position themselves in the market, to improve their customer orientation and professional complaints management skills.
